Getting a Stable Shot
Many videographers choose to use a long telephoto video lens when taking shots of wildlife. However, this lens may make it difficult to get a steady shot with a hand held camera because the more zoom you use the more amplified a shake is on the film. That is why you may need to rethink your tripod situation before you rent long telephoto video lenses.
You will need a sturdy, heavy-duty tripod to keep your camera stable. The more you plan on zooming the heavier duty tripod you will need. This can make traveling difficult, but the clear shot will be worth it. Some videographers choose to use heavy duty rigs or sliders as well.
Run Tests
Before you make a decision, you may want to run some tests using different support methods. You can rent what you need from BorrowLenses as you run these tests. The tests may be able to help you determine what kind of tripod you want to use or whether a rig is right for you.
Benefits of Renting
Renting your videography equipment may be quite beneficial. First, having a wide variety of lenses, tripods and other accessories can get really expensive. Renting this gear, on the other hand, tends to be more budget friendly. Second, when you own all of this gear, you have to be able to store it. When you rent, you can send it back to BorrowLenses when you are finished. Third, when you rent long telephoto video lenses, you get a chance to test out different products before committing. This may help ensure you get the device that best suits your needs.
Shop our selection of lenses, cameras and accessories to get the gear you need for your project. Choose the rental duration that is right for your project or testing.
