Overview

The Sony RX100 VII improves on the esteemed RX100 VI with higher ISO sensitivity, massively increased shooting speeds, and a new image sensor with expanded AF point coverage. The RX100 line of point and shoot cameras have always been top of their class for travel, vacations, and everyday shooting. Here are some of the best features of this model:

Autofocus

The densely-packed 357 focal-plane phase-detection AF points can lock focus on even distant subjects while working in tandem with 425 contrast-detection points for flawless following of erratically moving subjects. Real-time tracking uses sophisticated AI that draws on color, brightness, depth, and facial information to recognize and maintain focus on your subject. Continuous focusing relies on these AF calculations up to 60 times a second and works for both stills and video recording. On top of all this, a Touch Focus feature lets you set focus simply by touching the LCD screen. Take full advantage of the wide-area phase-detection AF system by using Fast Hybrid AF for fast, smooth, and continuous autofocusing when recording video.

4K Video

Record in stunning UHD 4K up to 30p at 100Mbps and enjoy slow motion effects up to 960 FPS using a dedicated High Frame Rate mode. Your 4K footage is oversampled from 5K and the entire sensor is used resulting in higher-detailed footage. S-Log2 and S-Log3 are included to provide wider ranges of color and brightness (up to 1300% more dynamic range overall) for full creative freedom in post production. You also can record externally to an optional recorder via HDMI for clean 4K with 4:2:2 sampling. A 3.5mm microphone jack has been added so you can finally use high-quality external mics with this RX100.

Zoom Lens

Enjoy ultimate range with a 24-200mm (equivalent) zoom lens that is complemented by Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and a fast maximum aperture of f/2.
