Overview
The RED V-RAPTOR 8K is the flagship release of the new DSMC3 platform. This dual-format RF mount cinema camera is only slightly larger than the KOMODO, allowing cinematographers to take this highly powerful camera anywhere. Here are the standout features of this modernized platform from RED:
A few important things to note: The RAPTOR takes Micro V-Mount batteries (1 is included) and CFExpress B memory cards (not included). Currently, this camera is officially only compatible with RED/Angelbird 660GB CFexpress B 2.0 cards. Please also note that new DSMC3 7" RED/SmallHD monitor is connected through a locking USB-C style cable for both video and power but it's not interchangeable with standard USB-C cables. With over 17 stops of dynamic range, a vast I/O array including dual 12G-SDI outputs, and an integrated right-side control display with physical buttons for easy settings navigation (especially handy for assistant operators), this is RED's most powerful and intuitive camera to date.
