The Nikon Z50 offers the ultimate pairing of portability with quality. This DX-format (crop frame) sensor mirrorless camera is both sleek and simple while boasting great specs. Here are the standout features:

An Innovative Z Mount

The Z50 is a crop sensor option in the Nikon Z series lineup. The smaller sensor means a smaller overall build but even though it's a smaller camera, it does not sacrifice the Z series' signature large-diameter mount for attaching new Z mount lenses. Like the others in the Z series, the Z50 has a reduced flange distance (the distance between a lens' mount and the surface of the sensor). Having a large optical element very close to the sensor's surface means fewer aberrations, greater light-gathering ability, and better image performance overall. This camera can also be paired with an optional adapter for use with most of Nikon's F mount lenses.

Comfortable Form and Function

The uniquely-extended electronic viewfinder offers an easy and glare-free fit for your eye. It activates when you bring your eye to it and will preview everything you need right there, including settings and creative filters in real time. The LCD is a touchscreen that will flip down for selfie/vlogging mode. The Z50 is designed for seamless pairing with your phone. Install Nikon's SnapBridge app and easily transfer footage or use your phone as a remote monitor or to adjust settings.

UHD 4K Video, Great Low Light Performance, and Quick Autofocus

Equipped with 4K and slow motion capabilities, this camera is a great option for those looking to shoot video but need to keep the load light – in fact, this is currently the second-lightest/smallest camera in the Z collection, beat only by the Z30. The Z50 has a 3.5mm port for external microphones and you can shoot a clip and trim it right in the camera before sending to your phone to post online. The robust EXPEED 6 image processor balances speed with high sensitivity. The sensor boasts a 209-point hybrid AF system that also supports Eye Detection AF.

The Nikon Z50 is Nikon's smallest DX-format camera to date. It is a unique multimedia tool that is ideal for travel and is especially suited to beginners or anyone looking for an enjoyably simple and comfortable camera that can take advantage of Nikon's new Z mount lenses.
