The Nikon BL-5 battery Chamber Cover attaches to the end of an EN-EL18 battery so that it can be inserted into select battery grips for use with cameras that normally cannot fit an EN-EL18 battery. The EN-EL18 battery is higher capacity than an en-el15 battery, so there is an advantage to fitting this piece to an EL-18 battery for pairing with a grip and your camera. In some models, it can also increase your shooting speed. This BL-5 battery chamber cover is compatible with, but may not be limited to, the following batteries:
