The Canon TS-E 135mm f/4L is a unique medium telephoto lens that offers nuanced tilting and shifting control, a true-to-life magnification ratio, high contrast, and accurate color rendering. The control knobs are large for fast, tactile control while a locking mechanism keeps your tilt position exactly in place. This lens is equipped with a shift of &pm12mm and a tilt of &pm10°, which can be applied independently or in parallel to each other for exceptional control over eliminating converging lines and/or establishing a very specific plane of focus. You can also use this lens without tilting or shifting as a normal medium telephoto lens with a maximum magnification of 0.5x, which is well suited for capturing small objects (but note that there is no autofocus function). The broad f/4-f/45 aperture range, especially at the upper end, lends itself well to macro work where the depth of field is extremely thin. The Canon TS-E 135mm f/4L is ideal for copy work, product photography, architecture, fine art, and "miniaturization" projects for both time-lapse and video.
