Overview

The Canon Speedlite EL-100 Flash is a simple and ultra compact flash that weighs only a half a pound. The head pivots for both direct and indirect lighting and covers a similar field of view as a 24mm lens for lighting group portraits (it can be zoomed to 50mm for narrower and brighter results as well). It can act as an optical master or slave with other Canon Speedlites for line-of-sight infrared triggering. Even though it is a paired-down version of Canon's larger Speedlites, the EL-100 still supports E-TTL, stroboscopic effects, high speed sync, and more. The Canon Speedlite EL-100 Flash is ideal for beginners or travelers.
