DJ Redefined What's Possible for Creative Footage

No brand has gone from a virtual unknown to major player faster for us than DJI. Seen at first as novelty products, DJI's aerial and handheld equipment has actually opened up major creative doors for not just artists but also for agriculture and search and rescue. Their stabilization technology redefined camera motion.

The Benefits of Renting DJI Stabilization Gear from BL

From power tools to purses, there is a rental service for just about everything – and this includes not only cameras and lenses but stabilization equipment such as tripods and DJI gimbals. Here are just a few reasons why renting vs purchasing might be right for you:

Convenience When Traveling

Leave your personal gear at home and eliminate the risk of it getting broken or stolen.

Special Projects

Gimbals can be a bit of a commitment, from price to calibration. This is cumbersome if you're only going to use one a few times a year. It can be more practical to rent the exact item you need vs buying the item you can afford.

Gain Experience

Someone might throw a piece of gear at you in the middle of a gig that is wholly unfamiliar to you. Renting different gimbals allows you to get familiar ahead of time and be more productive on set.

Low-Cost Testing

Not sure if you want to upgrade or if some certain new shiny system will work with your current accessories? Instead of using credit to purchase something expensive and relying too much on a decent returns policy, why not just borrow the item for as little as dollars a day?

Reserve your gear, have it shipped directly to you, and use the prepaid return label after you're done!

Recommended DJI Gimbals

DJI Ronin 2 Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer
Our highest-payload option, the Ronin 2 is a beast of a gimbal that can withstand speeds of 75 MPH with camera rigs as heavy as 30 lbs! Upright, Underslung, and Briefcase modes are supported.

DJI RS 3 Pro
A 10 lb payload gimbal with 3rd-generation stabilization algorithms, the RS 3 Pro is super lightweight thanks to layered sheets of uncut carbon fiber. This unit supports LiDAR focusing technology.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3
This is a tiny action cam and 3-axis motorized gimbal in one. Record 4K video onto microSD and control your movements with the 5D joystick.

DJI OM 5 Smartphone Gimbal
Take advantage of DJI's gimbal tech but while using your phone! It is equipped with a detachable 8.5" extension rod/tripod combo and has a 6 hour battery life!

What is the Difference Between a Gimbal and a Steadicam?

One of the primary benefits of a DJI gimbal is that stabilization is done electronically, whereas the steadicam, for example the Glidecam XR-PRO Stabilizer, is a much more manual process that requires careful control over the camera in addition to maintaining your steady horizon levels. Both require rebalancing when switching out gear, which you can do with the help of an app with the DJI gear. With a steadicam, this may require adding and removing weights, adjusting the camera sled up or down, or even attachingt to a vest. Steadicams require a decent amount of practice and experience to get the hang of but it's a fundamental skill to have on set. Gimbals, like those made by DJI, are more approachable for amateurs but still require a decent amount of finesse and it's important to follow the instructions. If you're ever confused about how to get up and running with your gimbal rental, our customer service team is available to assist you from 7AM-5PM PST, Monday-Friday at (844) 853-6737.
