Overview

For an updated version of this camera with a new image sensor with expanded AF point coverage, please see the RX100 VII.

The Sony RX100 VI improves on the esteemed RX100 V with a massively expanded zoom range, enhanced video recording, and a more advanced processing engine for lower noise and faster, more accurate AF (it's the same processor found in Sony's flagship a9 camera). The RX100 line of compact cameras has always been top of its class for travel, vacations, and everyday recording. Here are some of the best features of this model:

Autofocus

The densely-packed 315 phase-detection AF points can lock focus on even distant subjects while Tracking AF Technology activates when capturing moving subjects which can be shot at up to 24 FPS. On top of all this, a Touch Focus feature lets you set focus simply by touching the LCD screen. Take full advantage of the wide-area phase-detection AF system by using Fast Hybrid AF for fast, smooth, and continuous autofocusing when recording video.

4K Video

Record in stunning UHD 4K up to 30p at 100Mbps and enjoy slow motion effects up to 1000 FPS using a dedicated High Frame Rate mode. Your 4K footage is oversampled from 5K and the entire sensor is used resulting in higher-detailed footage. S-Log2 and S-Log3 are included to provide wider ranges of color and brightness (up to 1300% more dynamic range overall) for full creative freedom in post production. You also can record externally to an optional recorder via HDMI for clean 4K with 4:2:2 sampling. Multimedia artists can enjoy grabbing 8.29MP still images from their 4K footage quickly and easily.

Zoom Lens

Coverage has been greatly expanded in the built-in ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens without sacrificing compactness. Enjoy ultimate range with a 24-200mm (equivalent) zoom lens that is complemented by Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and a fast maximum aperture of f/2.8 (on the wide end, f/4.5 on the telephoto end).

The Sony RX100 VI is ideal for students, travelers, and influencers.
