Overview

The Rode VideoMic Pro+ Microphone is a supercardioid condenser shotgun mic with an integrated shockmount and a convenient detachable 3.5mm stereo mini-jack connection. It mounts directly onto your DSLR or video camera with the cold shoe (which also has a 3/8" thread for mounting onto most boompoles, tripods, and other stands). The mic is powered by 2 AA batteries. It features a 2-stage high-pass filter to prevent low-end noise from being picked up in your audio and also sports a Safety Channel to ensure the signal doesn't clip when spikes occur. This mic is particularly well suited for audio capture for DSLR and mirrorless camera video projects thanks to a 20bd pre-amplifier that boosts the mic signal enough for these cameras to detect, preventing unwanted automatic gain inputs which has caused noise to be audible with prior microphones. This mic is ideal for event and run-and-gun videographers.
