Overview

The Nikon D780 is an advanced full frame camera that's agile and ready for any assignment. Here are a few of the standout features of the D780:

Big Leap in Video Features

The intelligent and robust AF system and the latest processor have been combined with expansive low light performance for outstanding full frame images and 4K footage. Enjoy N-Log and HDR shooting formats for more detail and dynamic range. Time code your footage in-camera for easy syncing and logging. Use one of 20 creative filters that can be applied to both stills and video.

17% Faster Plus Exceptional ISO Performance

Majorly improving on the D750, the D780 offers shooting speeds of up to 12 FPS when shooting NEF/Raw in silent mode in 12-bit (8 FPS in 14-bit). Full HD recording is available up to 120 FPS for slow motion footage. The 273-point Hybrid AF system is action-ready with excellent subject tracking and support for Eye Detection AF. The D780's 180K-Pixel Advanced Scene Recognition System reads crucial information about a scene and can make incredibly accurate automatic adjustments to exposure, focus, white balance, and more. The backside illuminated sensor is capable of remarkably clean light gathering, with ISOs up to 204,800 in expanded mode, surpassing even the D850.

Better Workflow Features and Build

Equipped with dual UHS-II SD slots, the D780 is set up well for overflow or backup storage. battery performance has also been boosted, with 2,260 shots per charge. Extensive weather sealing has been added and the tilting touchscreen LCD makes it easy to compose, control, and navigate your images and settings. Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth allow you to transfer files or control the camera remotely when linked to Nikon's SnapBridge app.

The Nikon D780 is a versatile choice that excels in both photo and video. It took a lot of the groundbreaking technology from the Nikon Z mirrorless system and placed it in the DSLR form factor many know and love. With so many features, including slow motion, time-lapse, multiple exposure, and focus stacking, this camera is the ideal choice for both novice and professional creatives.
