Overview

The Nikon D7500 combines a lot of the performance of the D500 but in a more compact and, ultimately, more affordable package. It uses the same 20.9MP DX-format (APS-C, 1.5x crop) image sensor and EXPEED 5 image processing engine as the D500 but is placed inside a form factor that is slimmer with a deeper grip for improved stability. It boasts an action-compatible shooting speed of up to 8 FPS for stills and video frame rates up to 29.97 FPS in 4K UHD, which is helped further by a rugged design with extensive weather sealing elements to help withstand shooting in inclement weather. The powerful AF system will lock on to up to 51 different focus points, including 15 cross-type, for fast detection even in low light. Low light shooting is made even easier with ISO settings up to 1,640,000. For portraits and events, the D7500 incorporates Nikon's Creative Lighting System where you can use your built-in flash to optically trigger up to 2 groups of Speedlights.

For video and hybrid shooters, the D7500 lets you record rich and detailed 4K UHD in clips up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds in MP4 or MOV format. You can also shoot to an external recording device and to an in-camera SD card simultaneously (external recorders and SD cards rentable separately). Auto AF fine-tune in Live View allows complete control over minor focusing variations and ensures the best possible focus for each mounted lens. The AF system then calibrates itself to the fine-tuned focus position in order to alleviate front/back-focusing issues. Additionally, Power Aperture Control allows you to make smooth and silent brightness shifts with your lenses while recording. Add to this external microphone/headphone ports with sensitive sound monitoring and you have full multimedia potential. Other features include internal VR, in-camera time-lapse recording in 4K, and a seamless optical viewfinder. The D7500 is ideal for travel, students, new media work, and event shooters.
