DETAILS
Crafted from aluminum and stainless steel, the BH-55 is ergonomic and sports the lowest possible height for something with this level of payload. The knobs are oversized, tactile, and allow for quick, easy, and intuitive adjustments while the laser-engraved millimeter scale on the clamp jaw ensures precise positioning. There are dual 90° notches to drop your setup into for portrait orientation and the panning base is also laser-engraved at 2.5° intervals over a full 360° and features a drum and brake design for comfortable locking. The smaller spade knob works in concert with the main lock knob to set a minimum amount of resistance on the ball joint at all times, independent of the main lock knob being fully loosened or not. Additionally, the drag mechanism has built-in limiters to prevent it from being over-tightened and locking up the ball. The knob allows for 45° ball tilting in all directions in addition to the 90° vertical-orientation drop-notches.
This ballhead delivers solid performance in all weather conditions thanks to its rugged build. The markings, oversized knobs, high load capacity, and relatively low profile makes it an ideal choice for professional and enthusiast photographers alike.
