The Canon ME20F-SH Multi-Purpose Camera is a unique, specific-use camera that features a newly-developed full frame 35mm CMOS sensor with an equivalent sensitivity above 4,000,000 ISO while capturing full color 1080p video up to 60FPS. The large photosites on this sensor allow for exceptional low light performance in some of the darkest environments. The wide dynamic range and Canon Log gamma profiles help minimize the loss of shadow detail. This camera sports a rugged, versatile box-style design that can be easily configured for a variety of professional applications and can output audio/video to external recorders and monitors. It is also equipped with Genlock input for camera switching during a multi-camera, live broadcast performance. An IR cut filter, which is used to block unwanted IR light to help ensure color fidelity and reproduction, can be removed for infrared shooting. In extreme low light conditions, removing the camera's IR filter allows IR light to reach the sensor, enhancing visibility of certain objects. Uniquely, the IR functionality of the camera allows for color reproduction, increasing the ability to recognize and differentiate those objects. The camera's built-in 2x and 4x digital teleconverter will digitally double or quadruple the working distance of the equipped lens (rentable separately), which helps minimize the need to switch lenses. Push Auto Iris automatically adjusts the aperture of the lens to quickly and easily maintain proper exposure, even in situations where lighting changes frequently. This camera is essential for night wildlife, security, and law enforcement. It is also ideal for astro work, reality TV, and documentaries.
