A minimum of two Pocket Wizard units are required, unless you are using this item in conjunction with a light meter or strobe with a built-in Pocket Wizard transmitter/receiver. Also, when ordering a standalone Pocket Wizard please specify what type of sync cable you need for your lighting setup. If you do not know, please list what kind of lights you will be attaching each Pocket Wizard to and we will include the right cable for you.

Product Features

The PocketWizard Plus II Transceiver/Relay is a triggering system that offers Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology. This technology analyzes the status of the Plus II's miniphone jacks, camera hot shoe or the TEST button to determine which mode (Transmit or Receive) to set itself. By default, the Plus II is always in Receiver mode unless it senses a trigger pulse from a camera's hot shoe. It then quickly switches to Transmitter mode. The Auto-Sensing feature can also be disabled, if necessary.

This unit can also be used as a relay. You can remotely trigger your camera, and the camera-mounted transceiver automatically relays the triggering signal to a remote flash. With the Plus II's fast switching speed, there's no loss of camera shutter speed performance or triggering delays.

Kyle's review: The pocket wizard plus 2 is the best choice in a wireless flash sync device when you want a huge range, consistent triggering, and very easy set up. With this device you can run up to 4 different lighting set ups and never have to worry about crossing channels with another photographer. Combine two of these units with a lens rental and a flash unit like canon's 580EX II or one or more white lightning mono-blocks to get beautiful crisp images and total creative lighting control, without all the pesky wires that used to plague photographers wanting to experiment with lighting off camera. Additionally, you can use either a Canon or Nikon compatible motor cord and set up a remote camera trigger system, which would allow you to shoot from multiple angles so you know for sure you got the shot.
