I have rented this lens twice for weddings where I need a big dramatic shot - this lens does the trick. Attached to my 5D/3 the results are awesome. Had an outdoor wedding under a large oak tree on a ranch, the couple wanted a big photograph of them, the wedding tree, and the surrounds...Check. Rented again for a wedding at the San Jose/St. Joseph's cathedral - if you have seen that church, you know why this lens is critical to take it all in. I am also going to start using this for my commercial work photographing the inside of buildings and yachts. This lens is just about as wide as you can go without going to a fisheye. This will NOT give you a round "fisheye" photo - you get a regular aspect photo. You need to be a little careful about framing your shot or you might end up with your feet, or something else you don't want in frame. A beautiful and functional piece of glass. The more I use this lens, the more I want one - until I get my own, renting from Borrowlenses is the answer.

The Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM is an ultra-wide, non-fisheye lens designed for full frame cameras. For the angle of view, this lens has very little distortion. The two high-precision aspherical elements and two UD-glass elements result in better contrast and striking sharpness at the outer edges and a reduction in chromatic aberrations than earlier editions of this lens. This lens is suited for architecture, landscape, small spaces, and experimental shooting.
This was the first rental I have ever had. The lens arrived on-time and in excellent condition. I used it for a wedding and I really like the results. I also took it to a cavern at a state park that I have been trying to photograph but never had a wide enough lens to capture the massiveness of it. The lens is sharp and the distortion is manageable. Though I wouldn't use it enough to purchase it, I would rent it again if the need arises. My experience with Borrow Lenses has been very positive. Highly recommend them for your equipment needs!
I rented this lens for 1 week as an add-on perspective for a job. 10 years ago I had the Mark 1 original version of this lens, and honestly it was quite bad. Tons of CA and the typical wide angle barrel distortion, vignetting, and edge softness. Enter the Mark II. In a word - WOW! This lens redefines the Ultra Wide arena. Just the opposite of everything I just mentioned about the Mark 1 version. Here is a personal shot I did of the Google building in Venice, CA: http://tinyurl.com/Binocular-Building This lens is on my wish list as soon as I can afford it, I'm going to have a permanent space in my rolling LowePro for it! Give it rent and you won't be disappointed, I promise! PS - BL service was stellar! They run a very tight ship and the lenses I rented looked like they just came out of the original box. Not like the trash you get when renting in Hollywood/LA! BL is my newest BFF!
I rented this lens for a week long trip to Northern California. I was very impressed by how sharp the 14L was. It handled direct sunlight very well, and the flare was very acceptable. The widest lens I currently own is the 35L, so I wanted something wider for landscapes, and boy is this lens wide... Much wider than I was anticipating. The distortion was also acceptable, though I would probably go against renting the lens again. It was almost too wide at times (for landscapes), but very helpful for close quarters.
