Adam : This lens probably has its place, but its not on a DX camera. The higher quality glass and metal construction make this lens feel sturdy and produce good colors and images, but for a DX body I'd recommend the 17-55 f/2.8 DX Lens. On FX, this lens would be an excellent every day use wide angle lens, allows you to get plenty wide, the lens has excellent sharpness and color. It focuses quite close, the auto focus is silent and quick.
