Ron_Acap: Very versatile piece of glass! I rented this with a D7000. Perfect pair when I needed to take a good burst of photos per second with little to no time to switch glass. I used a SB800 flash when I could not rely on natural light. Since this lens is big, the in camera flash is too small and you will see a shadow on photos of the lens. I got a lot of complements about this lens from other DSLR enthusiasts who saw me use it. I look forward to borrowing this lens again or if I have enough cash, I will buy my own.

Rex: I have been using a Nikkor 18-200 VR that I really like, but there are times that I'd like some more reach, so I rented the 18-300 VR to try. This lens is a little bigger and heavier than the 18-200, although I didn't find it to be a problem. I found the image quality to be excellent, crisp and sharp, and the extra 100mm was very useful. Even though this is not a macro lens, it will focus close and has good bokeh when shooting wide open. I liked it enough that I just purchased one.
