Description Nikon's 200mm f/2.0G lens is a super fast, professional telephoto lens that is great for low-light action photography. This is the lens to have when shooting indoor sports. All the larger super telephoto lenses only open to f/2.8 which makes this one stand out in the line-up. The rounded nine blade diaphragm gives your images natural blur. In addition, this lens offers vibration reduction that will be able to handle shooting with shutter speeds up to three times slower while retaining sharpness in both still and video. The vibration reduction also has an automatic panning detection and the Internal Focusing (IF) produces smoother focusing overall. This lens is equipped with a Silent Wave Motor that produces accurate, high speed auto-focus with super-quiet operation. It also is made with Nikon's super ED glass that corrects chromatic aberration. Finally, it has Nikon's Super Integrated Coating (SIC) which minimizes ghosting and flare while providing accurate colors. |

Robert: I rented this lens for ten days and took it to Alaska, in the Tongass National Forest. Weather was typical July weather for Southeast Alaska - cloudy and frequent daily rainshowers. We camped at a cabin by the wildlife viewing platform at Anan Bay for four days. This is temperate rainforest with dense tree cover. I almost always shot this lens wide open at f/2. It is the sharpest lens I have used, even wide open. Black and brown bears were catching salmon in Anan Creek right in front of the viewing platform. Detail, contrast, and color were spectacular.
