Description There is a saying in the motorsports world; "There's no replacement for displacement." And though we're not saying megapixels are the end-all, be-all, the Nikon D3x delivers the highest resolution available in a 35mm format body and the results are simply breathtaking. Sure, each RAW file is 50MB, but memory is cheap these days and the D3x is still less expensive than going medium format. The only downside to have that many pixels -- 24.5MP -- on a full-frame sensor, is ISO performance is about 1/4 that of the Nikon D3s -- you will want to stay at or below ISO 800 (max is 1600), whereas the D3s can go up to 12,800 but at just half the resolution. Regardless, if you shoot Nikon and want the absolute maximum amount of detail in your landscapes, portraits, weddings or anything else, the D3x will absolutely exceed your expectations.
