Vineet: I had high expectations from this lens. I had read reviews on Amazon and BorrowLenses.com. However when I got this lens I was highly disappointed. I don't know if I got a mishandled piece of glass which had gone bad over the rentals or was it just the lens itself, but I didn't get a single completely properly focussed image out of this image. Even with a tripod and a cable release in complete windless conditions the image was not sharp. The edges of the image are always out of focus, and about 80% of the the times even the center of the image is out of focus. I hope it's just me who had a bad experience with this lens because otherwise it's not even worth the $500 retail price.

JeffS4653: This was my first experience with an ultra wide lens. With this particular lens at 10mm (which is basically all I used it at), I found the edges and corners to be very soft, especially at f/3.5. I ended up using the lens on Av mode set to either f/8 or f/11. The sharpness improved considerably, but still is a little soft (but acceptable). It basically acted just as every online review indicated it would. To clarify further, if one was shooting outdoor landscapes, and nothing was close to the camera at the edges, you wouldn't really notice this. However, if you're shooting an indoor scene, you will notice this. The problem with having to work at f/8 or f/11 is it limits your low light shooting options, but for outdoor it's no problem. For me this wasn't an issue as many of the shots I took were tripod mounted indoor long exposures. Focus was fast and accurate. Resistance to flair was good. My overall opinion of the lens is that when I decide to purchase a UWA lens, this particular model would not be considered. I am not sorry I rented this lens, nor am I unhappy with the results, I just would not use it again. The lens was used with an EOS 60D.

Megamoneybags: I rented this lens for a one-week trip to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. I can honestly say that this is one of the best lenses I have ever rented! If you are using this lens indoors and are trying to obtain a photograph of the entire room, this is the lens to do it with. As others have said, this lens is a little soft around the edges - but come one! It is a 10mm wide-angle lens! Of course there is going to be some signs of softness around the edges! However, the softness does not degrade quality of the entire image. A peculiar thing about this lens is the zoom ring is "backwards" You have to turn it counterclockwisew to zoom in, and clockwise to zoom out (I hope I got the order right, hahaha) Other than that, this is a very exceptional lens. It comes with an attachable, authentic Tamron lens hood perfect for wide angle lenses. I kept the lens hood attached to the lens the entire trip and received NO vignetting even at 10mm. This is the PERFECT lens for landscape and architectual photography. I actually just rented it again yesterday! 5 stars!

Meghan: I rented this lens to take photos of my baby girls nursery. I put so much work into her nursery that I wanted some great pictures of it...not just bits and pieces, but the room as a whole. Obviously, this lens was great for that. I love the pictures that I got with this lens and I love that I was able to just rent it to be able to use for a couple days, instead of forking over $700+ to buy one! I'll definitely be back to try out another!
