Ron: I used this with my Nikon D7100. I took over 260 photos at my brother's graduation. The weather in North County San Diego was sunny about half the day and cloudy. This lens is definitely on the heavy end. I did not use a tripod or monopod since I was surrounded by other photographers that were pushing and shoving to get a photo of their graduate. The VR feature on this lens did not disappoint. Every image I took that day was nice and sharp in any focal length. Focusing was fast enough to focus on my brother walking around during his graduation. Amazing lens to use with natural sunlight.
