Chris: I had heard good things about this slider and was psyched to use it. I was surprised at how big the case was. For a 26" slider it had a 48" long case, which kind of defeated some of the benefit of being a small slider used for location work. One thing I was really disappointed with was the smoothness of the slide. I'm not sure if it was something caught in the tracks or the slider was catching on the tripod support, but there was something that was binding the slider in random places. I took the slider/roller mechanism off, inspected it wiped down the runners and pulley wheels, and finally re applied some light grease hoping that it would fix it, but to no avail. I was able to use the unit for some shots, but many shots were unusable due to the sticking. I totally admit that it could be user error but the problem was very random and occurred when using a variety of video heads, geared heads, and ball heads as well as a light 7D with a small lens and a 5D with a 70-200. This could be a great piece of equipment and just has been bumped and bruised as many rentals are. I've used the Kessler Pocket Dolly before and felt it had a more fluid movement.
