I recently stepped up to a DSLR (Canon EOS Rebel T5i) and purchased it with the kit zoom lens (18-135). That is a fine lens and presents a lot of options, but I really wanted to try a nice prime lens with a big aperture, and I had read good reviews of this lens in other places. Being new to photography I really appreciate the opportunity to rent a lens for a week and not being committed to a purchase. This lens delivered really good results. I maybe got a little bokeh-crazy, but I figured that's part of the fun of such a big aperture. I took a closeup of an almond croissant, with the focus on the near side, and this lens was able to blur the almonds on the far side of the croissant. Again, I probably took it a little too far, but this lens is definitely capable of the really shallow depth of field. I also took a few photos of my wife, and also of our dog, and the detail is superb. Again, I'm a novice so take this with a grain of salt, but I feel that the photos came out very well. I'm shooting RAW, and even though I'm only using iPhoto '11 at this point, I was happy with the results. I just wish I would have rented a tripod at the same time. I had this lens during a full moon and was wishing I could have attempted some night shots. Some other time, perhaps. Also, the service from Borrow Lenses was spot on. The delivery was fast, the packaging was done right, and the return shipping could not have been easier. This was my first rental from BL, but I'm sure not my last.
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM A1 Lens for Canon

This was my first rental and my first Sigma lens. I have owned the Canon 35mm L series and this lens was better in all respects. The focusing method is more consistent although it suffered as much in difficult circumstances (low light on a dance floor with lasers). It is built solid, very sharp image results and I loved the manual focus ring. I would highly recommend this lens for any photography especially weddings. I used this on my Canon 7D so it was more like a 50mm for me. My experience with Borrow Lens as been phenomenal. They shipped on time, packed it well and provided the return shipping label. What more can you expect?
