Description
The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM is the successor of the original Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 USM. The new lens features improvements in weight and size, losing about a half pound and 10mm in length. With this decrease in size, the lens also improves its lens diameter, now requiring a filter size of 82mm. The UD(Ultra-low Dispersion) design has carried over from the previous version to minimize chromatic aberrations. According to MTF charts, resolution is much more consistent throughout the image, especially when used with maximum aperture. Among these many new improvements, a key accomplishment in the new version is a faster auto-focusing ability.
