Product Reviews
Michael: A very useful range for many outdoor subjects. Relatively lightweight and compact alternative to the heavy and cumbersome 100-400. Easy to handle. Fast and quiet autofocus. Image quality is really very good for such a long zoom. The image stabilization makes up for the slow 5.6 aperture.
Scott: I was one of the first customers to rent this lens back in December when BL first got the lens, and I must say I fell in love with it. I must say that it's on my bag list (think bucket list) of lenses that must be in my Camera Bag when I die. The lens is lightweight and compact for an L series lens. The Auto-focus on this lens is super fast and extremely accurate. Pictures were tack sharp and extremely impressive. I would recommend this lens for airshows or birding if you are looking for a sharp zoom lens that can be hand held. This will definitely be the next lens that I purchase.
Chris: I love this lens. More reach than the 70-200 without much more bulk. With the great sensitivity of the 5D Mk III, this lens becomes practical even in lower light. I shot this in a moderately-lit recording studio at 5.6/ISO 800-3000 and it looked great. On a APS-C body, this becomes a super telephoto, just be warned that using it at the far end will make the shot prone to vibration from even a mild breeze. Wish it came with a tripod collar for better video tripod balance, but it mounts solidly enough without one.
BRANDEN: This is an excellent wildlife lens. If shooting wildlife is your goal, this is what you'll want to use. The image clarity is very good, and the image stabilization is the best I've ever used. Handheld photography is possible even at very low shutter speeds. Focus is quick. The lens's controls aren't terribly cumbersome, and can be learned quickly. Essentially, this lens is everything a 70-300mm lens is supposed to be, and if you need this focal length range and the f/4-5.6 aperture range is appropriate for your task, there is zero doubt that this is the lens you should get.
nicholas: I rented this lens for the Patriots vs Raiders game in Oakland on Oct 2! Great lens I got a lot of close up pictures and action shots! The process is smooth and quick as well! I look forward to doing business with BorrowLenses.com again. Well this week to be exact I the same lens again for the Pats Vs Cowboys.
Eric: I shot fast moving motorcycles drag racing all weekend long. I am off the fence now about this lens for action. If you are looking for a 70-200 f4L or IS, do not rule this out I would buy this lens right now -you won't be dissappointed. Sharp copy
