Description
One of Canon's most popular "walkaround" lenses, the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM zoom offers a lightweight alternative to the renowned EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM. It's not as fast as the 24-70 being an f/4 lens, but it provides more focal length and has IS, so you can shoot handheld in low light. Like all "L" lenses, it offers outstanding optical quality and is dust and moisture resistant. If you have to have f/2.8, by all means check out the 24-70, but if f/4 will do this lens is a fantastic alternative and one a lot of Canon shooters have on their body the majority of the time.

Jerry: Not very happy with this lens. I have rented other lenses here and have had no issues. But this lens was not very sharp. Whether shooting in daylight or not. I can get better quality photo's out of the lens that came with my camera than with this lens. It has an issue with bokeh as well as focusing. I definitely do not recommend this lens if you need a lens for weddings or portrait work.

James: Noisy motor, doesn't focus very well and images are all very bland, almost no color saturation. My 17-85/4-5.6 is sharper. Also, with this lens, I'm even seeing graininess at ISO100.

James: Took the lens on a day trip to NYC and it was FANTASTIC as a walk-around. At least during the day, but I anticipated that and brought along my 50mm f/1.8 for night shots. Contrast, color and bokeh were great and I took some of the best shots I've ever done. (Enthusiastic amateur w/1 year on a dslr.) I am screwed now because I miss the 24-105 already and will now have to get one and it is not in the budget. I gave it 4 of 5 stars only because the lens had pretty bad zoom creep. I wasn't a big problem because the barrel only extends a little over an inch at 105mm, but it was noticeable. Great service and speedy shipping, etc. from BorrowLenses.com I will definitely use them in the future for short-term needs and have already recommended them to others.

Jay: WHAT a great lens. I took it on a day trip to NYC and it was fantastic. Sharpness, color and contrast were great and I had a much higher percentage of keepers than usual. As expected, low light performance wasn't that great, but I anticipated that and brought along my 50mm f/1.8 for exterior shots after dark. That said, interior shots were fine with the 24-105L- the IS helped a lot with that. Used hand-held the whole time. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the copy I got had pretty bad lens creep. Not a huge deal, since the barrel only extends a little over and inch, but it was worth noting. This was my first time using Borrowlenses and they have certainly picked up a loyal customer. Great shipping time, packing, etc. I have already recommended them to friends.

Sean: This lens has excellent build quality, versatile focal range, quiet USM (except in total silence), very little chromatic aberration, and is very sharp all along the focal range. The f/4 max aperture means poor low light performance though.

Austin: I love this lens. I brought this on my vacation and I only had great things with this lens. Focal distance was perfect as a walk around lens. All the pictures I took were nice and sharp. Auto focusing was really fast and accurate for the most part. All the pictures and videos I took were full of color and look excellent. I will defiantly buy this lens when I have enough money.

Jennifer: I love this lens! Rented it as my walk around lens for our Disney trip and used it to take family beach photos. The minute I looked at my LCD screen I could tell it was an awesome lens! I took some family pics that look like a professional took them...and I am just an enthusiastic amateur at best! My goal is to save up to buy my own! Only drawback to this lens is that it does not do that great in low light with out a tripod since it is an f/4, other than that ILOVED it!

Austin: I rented this for when I went on vacation and i loved how well this lens performed. I used this lens for both pictures and videos. The manual focus for videos was very smooth and not choppy which helps a lot. The f/4 is consistent, i mean that if you zoom in the aperature doesnt change. The auto focus was very fast and accurate in areas well lite. Pictures were very sharp and the colors really popped in the images. The weight of the lens is pretty heavy. I have a t3i and the weight balance was a little off but nothing that angered me. The build quality is on par with the "L" series of lenses. The water resistance is great. I was able to have it in the rain and take pictures (not for too long of course). Overall I had a mostly positive experience with this lens. The only bad thing was it didnt perform that well in low lighting. If your thinking about trying this lens out, you won't regret it. The packaging from BorrowLenses was perfect and the return process was very easy (first time I mailed a package). Im now looking into a telophoto lens from BorrowLens to tryout next.

Nathan: Wow, what a great lens. We rented this lens to take on our vacation as our only lens (I own a 50 1.8, kit and a 70-200F4L, but wanted to take just one lens). It had the right focal length, and produced fantastic images. The best lens I have used. Quick autofocus taking photos of my wife surfing. I've never had so many sharp images out of a lens, normally there are a few to throw out and I had no issues. The IS was great for video work. Perfect lens if you are outdoors and have the light.

Roger: Loved this lens. I have a similar zoom, but nothing beats Canon glass on a Canon! Will be buying soon enough.

Joseph: Lens was in good working condition and the price cant be beat. I had a portrait shoot and wanted to try this lens out without forking over the full L price tag. Borrowlenses cant be beat, they offer a fantastic service.
