Notes: This is a power supply denoting that it powers multiple flash heads via surge-protected, arc-proof proprietary plugs on a central box that connects to AC power via a power cord. This is NOT a portable battery unit for cordless strobe powering. This power supply is compatible with Profoto D4 heads, such as the Profoto 4800W/s D4/Acute 2 Flash Head or the Profoto 2400W/s D4/Acute 2 Ringflash Head, which are NOT included. Note that it will fire these 4800W/s and 2400W/s heads but only at a maximum of the 1200W/s generated by this power supply. Note also that this power supply comes with a sync cable but additionally you can plug in a Pocket Wizard using a 1/4-1/8 sync cable for wireless radio firing from your camera. A total of 2 Pocket Wizards will need to be rented to wirelessly fire this way. Unlike the Profoto Acute2R, this power supply does not have a built-in transceiver. See these instructions for full information on the Acute2 system.Rental includes:
The Profoto Acute2 1200 Power Supply is a robust power supply with the ability to support up to 3 Profoto D4 flash heads, such as the Profoto 4800W/s D4/Acute 2 Flash Head or the Profoto 2400W/s D4/Acute 2 Ringflash Head. Note that it will fire these 4800W/s and 2400W/s heads but only at a maximum of the 1200W/s generated by this power supply. From this centralized box, you can control the power of up to 3 D4 or Acute heads with a total output of 1200W/s. The power supply allows you to connect your camera directly to it with a PC-in sync cable to fire the heads wirelessly or you can also rent a couple of Pocket Wizards and a 1/4-1/8 sync cable. While the power is AC only, the voltage is compatible the world over making this a safe choice for on-location shooting. Flash durations are as quick as 1/3200th of a second at half power. To shoot at 100% power, you may be limited to a sync speed as low as 1/100th of a second. This power supply is ideal for indoor shooting because of its dependency on AC power but is the lightest of our bunch and so it is suitable for travel as well.
