edritger.com: I had never used this kit (or any other Profoto kit) before the D1 Air this week. This system is incredibly easy to setup and use. The transceiver is very functional...you can control up to six groups individually or all of them as a master group. That includes control over the modeling light and powering the lights down as well. One negative is the transceiver feels a little bit flimsy on the top of the camera. Instead of firmly mounting in the hot shoe, it can flex back and forth more than I am comfortable with. It had no effect on it's performance, and I'm being pretty nitpicky here. I just like things to be solidly in place. As for performance, all I can say is these lights are beautiful. The quality of the light is stunning and exactly the same every time. I shot glass and mirrored tile installations for three straight days and the never misfired once and the color temp was perfect every time. Having 1/10 stop control over the power was really great too. The kit comes with two white umbrellas so you might need to augment with other light shaping tools depending on what you are shooting. It comes in a very compact case as well as DVDs with user guides for the lights and the transceiver. There is also the Profoto software for managing the lights from your MAC or PC. Basically, this kit is a no brainer to setup and get dialed in and produces amazing light quality. I had it for a week, and it is a bargain at $140.
