The Hasselblad H5D-40 Medium Format DSLR Camera captures high resolution images great clarity and color rendering on a massive 40MP image sensor. This medium format DSLR produces incredibly detailed image quality that is ideal for landscape, portrait, commercial, and fine art photography or for those who are looking to work with high-end equipment. The Hasselblad H5D-40 is a powerhouse made of an aluminum inner core with stainless steel housing. RAW files are about 65MB (7304 x 5478) each. For comparison, the D800’s considerably hefty 36MP produces 40-45MB RAW files (7360 x 4912). The Hasselblad Natural Color Solution achieves consistent color reproduction using a single color profile and the H5D-40’s central lens/leaf shutter allows flash sync at all shutter speeds, enabling use of flash in all lighting conditions (shutter range is 256 seconds to 1/800th of a second). This provides studio photographers with much more creative control over their lighting compared to shooting with focal plane shutter DSLRs, which typically only have a maximum shutter/flash sync speed of only around 1/200th-1/250th of a second.

Other great features include a 90 degree eye-level ultra-bright viewfinder with 3.1x image magnification, instant focus confirmation so that one does not have to check their focus after each shot, Digital Spirit Leveling to allow placement of the camera vertically or horizontally, a 3.0" 24-bit color/460,320-pixel LCD, and print-ready JPEGs. This camera is not lightweight (it is just over 5lbs) nor is it fast (1.1 seconds a capture). However, its technical quality is without compromise. The 40 million pixel sensor has almost twice the capture area of the largest 35mm DSLR sensors and also comes equipped with low noise color filters. The native digital lens correction system removes any trace of distortion, vignetting, or chromatic aberrations in your capture. This camera is the best tool to use when image quality, color, and detail are essential.
