Nikon has added a new leader to its DSLR line-up, the Nikon D4. Built for the professional arena, the D4 utilizes a redesigned FX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 3 processor enabling increased megapixels, faster frames per second, increased ISO, and full HD video capabilities make this camera an improvement over its predecessor the Nikon D3s.

The D4 provides a slightly “curvier” shape than the D3 models, for a more comfortable, hand-held grip. The LCD screen boasts a large, sharp 3.2” with nearly 100% frame coverage, a 170° viewing angle and an ambient brightness sensor that automatically adjusts according to the environment. Fast, auto-focus detection is accomplished with 51 AF points placed strategically for pinpoint accuracy.

Beyond building an impressive photography camera, Nikon has brought their A-game to the world of high-definition DSLR video as well with versatile, new video features. Full HD 1080p recording at 24/30 fps in FX mode renders excellent shallow depth of field and wide-angle shooting. Need to get closer to the action? Nikon has created DX mode with a 1.5x crop and for added telephoto reach, a 1920x1080 mode with a 2.7x crop. Audio monitoring via a dedicated headphone jack and external live view monitoring via HDMI output is also included.
