Bryce: This is by far the best lens you can get for the money on the market. The image quality is fantastic when you look at the price. I almost feel bad complaining because this lens is such a good deal. Also, if you're using a camera with a cropped sensor (T2i, for example) you're going to have to back up quite a bit to fit everything in frame.

Seroga07: This lens is awesome for many reasons. First off its the cheapest one to rent! Second it performs just like the more expensive lenses that come from Canon's more expensive range, similar to the 50mm 1.4. The only difference is that the body is made of plastic, but being so cheap they're a lot easier to replace. Basically you get stellar portraits, low light shooting, etc... But for much cheaper. Just be careful with it and dont carry the camera by this lens.

Bryan: This lens is great! I used it on a Canon T1i which means it was like using an 85mm lens on a full frame cam. At this price (whether renting or buying) there is NO reason why anyone would still be using the kit lens. I kept it at f/2.8 most of the time and was very happy with the pictures! _ _ _ _ _ _ Pros: Sharp, Fast, Light-weight, Affordable Cons: Noisy motor, "Bad" bokeh at f/1.8 If you're using the kit lens, do yourself a favor and replace it with this 50mm.
