BorrowLenses’ Favorite Gear Sightings from NAB
Update: We had a great time at the 2014 NAB Show! Our special is now over and done with (too bad, so sad if you missed it). To cheer yourself up, check out the new gear we’ll be hopefully getting later in the year!
1 more day at the 2014 NAB Show! Stop by our booth #12341 for our NAB Show Special: $250 off video rental orders of $500 or more. Get it before it is gone forever!
Can’t be at the show? Here’s a visual guide to some of the latest things to be excited about this year (all taken with a crappy cell phone camera – oh the irony)!
MŌVI RC Car
Cineflex action camera on ATV. Designed for news gathering. Looks pretty war-ready to us. Would be the best dune buggy ride coverage ever.
Blackmagic’s Design Studio Camera 4K, with resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 and 4 hour battery. Expect in June. (They said that last year, too – don’t hold your breath, we’ll do that for you.)
Blackmagic’s URSA with interchangeable lenses and sensor. 4K Super 35mm with built-in fold-out display. EF and PL mounts. Expect in July. Maybe. Probably not.
Freefly copter with a 6K Red Epic Dragon on it. Say what? Amazing.
The Sony booth, moving on.
Blackmagic’s Design Studio Camera 4K from the other side.
What you’re missing.
Blackmagic in ACTION. Sterile, talk-showy, boring action.
Digital Sputnik’s cool LEDs on a copter.
Blackmagic stealing the show.
Children, shield your eyes. The Canon 200-400 cut in half.
Beefy Blackmagics all in a row.
The captivity of lenses on public display is a tragedy and they should be released.
More fun you are missing.
One of several “mid-budget” cine zooms from Angénieux to come out in summer. This one is on an Arri – though not the new, forthcoming Amira. We’d love to see what mid-budget looks like.
Cineflex action camera on (rather, under) a drone. They make these for vehicles large and small (see ATV from earlier?).
Freefly MŌVI Steadicam on motorcycle for all of your Bound II parody videos.
Blackmagic/5D Mark III love making going on here via HDMI.
The biggest thing you’re missing (at least you’re not getting fatter).
Oh, my. An explicit view of the Blackmagic/5D Mark III HDMI love fest.
There you have it. Stay tuned for more terrible cell phone photos live (sorta) from NAB 2014!
