  • Bryan A says:

I need a Facebook to even enter. :/ Damn. Good luck everybody!

  • Daniel says:

Since this was publicly posted on G+, I feel that there should be a way to enter from there in addition to Facebook.

    • BorrowLenses.com says:

Unfortunately Google+ terms of use for businesses does not allow for contests or giveaways to be run. This is why we are running a Facebook contest for the time being. As G+ updates their terms we’ll be glad to begin running equivalent contests there. While we understand Facebook may not be your site of choice we still hope you’ll take part. Thanks

  • Ron says:

No love for FB– let us enter from twitter or Goog+, please

  • would be nice to really be able to win a free canon or nikon camera, just way to costly, ill dream on, thanks for the chance to win.

  • Amazing! Shared this with my circles on Google+ so hopefully you’ll see more entries!

  • Ed Penano says:

Saw that pretty girl on the street. I like the way she movin to the beat.

She movin’ like a movie star, like an icon. Need to snap a picture with my new Nikon.

  • Karla says:

Would love to win this & get an amazing UPGRADE!!! I’ve been drooling over the Canon 5D Mark III!!!

  • Kathy Sierra says:

Still like y’all a lot (in real life) and I’m willing to “like” you on FB as well, but incentivizing us to basically spam our friends to up our odds (and “unlock” more opportunities to win) is a sleazy marketing technique. If we tell our friends about this, it should be for ONE reason only: because we like our friends. For that matter, if have to incent/bribe someone to “like” you, what’s that like really worth? Please think harder on these types of promos in the future. Still love the basic contest, though :)

    • Tim says:

Umm, this is the way marketing works. It’s not sleazy. It’s smart.

What would be the incentive of giving away free stuff that is highly sought after if there wasn’t an incentive on their end?.

    • Dave says:

Kathy, you are comparing apples to oranges. When we pass out this link, it will probably be to our photographer friends. When they hit “like” or follow the newsletter, they will hear about renting professional gear. That is certainly in the best interest of Borrowlenses, but maybe in the interest of the viewer as well. You are a big girl, you know how to unlike a page or unsubscribe from a newsletter like everyone else. If borrowlenses just told me to tell my friends that they are awesome, without an incentive, I would. Now they are being even more awesome and giving away a camera or two, which they dont’t need to do at all.

You are comparing this to a photographer doing the same thing, with is of course slightly different. We are selling art, emotion, etc. They are renting objects. Quite a different siutation. I dont need an emotional connection with borrowlenses.

    • Eric Wedel says:

Agree with Kathy — definitely sounds a bit sleazy. Bad enough when the cost is (simple email) spam to oneself, but to do it to friends as well? Nay.

Oh well, best of luck to everybody willing to get in the running for the toys.

    • Tom says:

Sheesh Kathy, if you don’t like the publicity stunt, don’t participate… They are GIVING a $3000+ camera away, a little promotion and good spirit about the company is fine by me. They’re not selling arsenic for crying out loud.

  • Cortney says:

The Nikon D800 would make an AMAZING Birthday gift.. Its only a few days after the drawing :o) HOPING ITS ME!!!!

  • Very nice anniversary celebration indeed. Would love to own a High End camera/

  • Jennifer R. says:

I have added your Facebook page to my pages favorites. I have a business page and FB will not let me “like” a page, but only to add it to my Favorites. I did do this.
    Does this count?

  • Stacey says:

Love Cannon. It would be great to upgrade to a digital SLR.

  • Maria says:

is this contest is open for Pakistan?

  • I shoot with a Nikon D3000 and love it !!!!! Best of luck to all …

  • Sage says:

Signed up. Where do I find my ‘custom link?’ I don’t get the instructions. Nothing was ‘shared’ to my FB page and I haven’t received an email with the link.

  • ADRIAN says:

I WANT THIS D800 IT WILL PUT ME IN A BETTER PLACE WITH MY WORK!

  • Jenny King says:

I just found out about your giveaway today. Glad to see you will be picking the winner next month. Can’t wait to find out who won! Good luck everyone! i personally would love to win the Nikon D800. ;-)

  • Dhoje says:

Can’t afford these beauties… would be amazing if I got one of these !! Fingers Crossed !

  • Leonardo says:

is USA only? i have a currier there but i’m from venezuela, can i enter? i so want a 5D, i have a T1i want to upgrade but cant affort a new cam… my contry let me use only 400us$ per year so i have to save like 5 years to buy one…

  • Theresa Wilson says:

    Oh I’m in love!

  • Sushanta says:

I’m under 18 so I can’t take part in this contest. I wish I could’ve….Is there anything for kids??

  • murrymayhem says:

Such a great contest!!! I’ve been eying the Canon 5D Mark III since it came out! As a small business owner, it’s not easy to just drop that much money even if it is to better the business. Would be overjoyed and blessed to be the lucky winner :)

  • This is an awesome thing you are doing. So many people, like myself, are trying to get a camera like this, and I know, like me, most can’t afford them. That said, your business of rental equipment helps that too. Even pros can’t always afford to invest in every lens and the fact that you enable that, and are investing in the photographers of tomorrow is amazing.

    Thank you!

  • Shelley StL says:

is there an age restriction for this giveaway, like “age 18+”? I saw there was a checkbox asking if over 18, along with a notice that says “see official rules” – but I’m not finding a link to any Official Rules. Please advise. Thanks!

  • Beverly Stern says:

I really like BorrowLenses, but I hate the privacy-invading soul-stealing time-waste that is FaceBook, so I won’t be entering.
    Good Luck everyone!

  • Sonja says:

Great contest, what an amazing prize!

  • Mary says:

Great contest! Congratulations on 5 years in business!!!

  • Onatopa says:

Does the Canon camera come with a lens in this giveaway or is it just the body?

  • KC says:

I entered and clicked on ‘continue.’ Page went back to empty form. Checked on my ‘status’ — an empty form page came up.

How do I know I’ve been entered?

  • Eusha says:

I wish i win , my luck is always same bad. Lol

  • Keith says:

If this is neither endorsed nor sanctioned by FB, then where is the proof more “shares” will net more odds of winning? How about offering a good old 3×5″ index card entry?

  • Facebook isn’t responsible for the operation of the contest and do not endorse the contents of the posts. But the company that runs the contest is able to use Facebook as the platform for spreading the word and can track the sharing of the participants for the purpose of the contest. We do sometimes do raffles the old-fashioned way at trade shows but for online entries this system seems to be the most effective.

  • Kylie says:

You have to be 18 to enter. “Sigh” not fair

  • Atif says:

I registered with it yesterday. Shared the link. And now when I came to see how many friends have registered through my reference, it asks me to register :-s

  • Tiffany says:

Do you have to pay taxes in the U.S.A because it says: winners outside of USA are responsible for shipping fees and your country taxes.

    • Overseas winners do have to pay to have the prize shipped to them. If your country has a particular import tax that you have to pay, then that may be applicable to the prize as well.

  • Christina says:

I would LOVE to win this!!! I finally got the chance to use a D700 for a day this past weekend, and I was just in heaven. If I could own my own D800 – well that would be perfectly amazing and a nice upgrade from my quite old D90. *crosses fingers, toes and anything else I can twist together*

  • Louis says:

I have been pushing to try and make it as a photographer. I do art landscapes and this would really push my work to the next level. This would be like a ship coming in, and dreams being made into reality.

That camera will make a huge difference in my life. Thanks for giving me a daydream that will hopefully come true in a few days. :)

  • Caedmon says:

I have chosen not to use Facebook as I have better things to do with my time. Any other ways I can enter as a good customer from the past? Thanks.

  • Larry says:

I wish the contest was extended to us on twitter. I wouldn’t open a facebook
account to enter either. I will come back next year for the 6th anniversary. Good Luck
    Everyone.

  • Keith Thibault says:

I think you should allow people to enter without accessing facebook. I don’t have and don’t want a facebook account. I “like” Borrow Lens, but definately don’t like facebook. In the future, I suggest an option to enter without facebook. Just my 2 cents worth.

  • Ethan says:

Ugh, a real shame you have chosen to do this through Facebook. I wouldn’t touch that site with a ten foot pole. I’ve been a happy customer for almost all of these five years, wish there were a way for me to participate =/

  • Tom says:

While I understand the connecting to Facebook I do wish an alternative method of entering your contest was available as I do not do Facebook and would rather not start it just to enter a contest. Thanks for listening – I’m sure I’m not the only one who would like an alternate method other than Facebook.

  • Kasia says:

I thought I had already entered but when I plugged in any of the emails I would have used it said no entries…so I entered and then went to check my status again with the email I had just entered and it said that email could not be found! So am I entered? Thanks!

  • Chaz says:

I’m disappointed you don’t better understand photographers. Facebook is not a safe place to post photographic content, so it’s not where we hang out. Because of this I won’t be entering, but being a BarrowLenses Fan and user I will continue to be.

    • Bravo51 says:

Please explain more chaz why isn’t facebook a safe place for pictures? is it because your one of the people who believe the urban myth that facebook owns your photos when you place it on there? or some other wacky idea because your just trying to be cool and trendy by saying you don’t use facebook.

  • Cindy Wesley says:

    Oh this would be awesome

  • Erica Joy says:

As a frequent BorrowLenses customer and person who doesn’t use Facebook at all, I’m quite disappointed this contest is being held on Facebook. I’d much prefer a contest run on your own site, not a third party site.

  • Bravo51 says:

All the facebook haters make me laugh i’m betting your all social rejects any ways or hipsters trying to be cool either way thanks for the laughs you fake facebook haters i bet each of you has a facebook page.

  • When I was in grade school I prayed to God that I would never ask for anything from him again if he let me win a gameboy for a contest I entered at a school assembly. I won! But now I wish that He could do me one more solid and let me win the Nikon D800! My company needs one so bad I’d do anything!

  • Carol Oddy says:

Would love to win this one! Great prizes…love your site. Thank You!

  • F.A says:

I wish I could have the Nikon, so badly. I wish everyone good luck.

    Much love from Germany.

And thanks to Borrowlenses for this giveaway contest, much appreciated.

  • Chris Zak says:

Good luck everyone. The winner is going to be a very happy camper!!!

  • Dave says:

I already have a D800, so I guess that means I’ll have two soon! ;-)

  • Allen S. says:

If I win, can I trade it back in for more talent? I’d love the 5D3, but that would be better;)

  • Jessica says:

I have wanted a Nikon DSLR forever. I have an old Nikon SLR that was my dad’s. I keep my fingers crossed because this would be an awesome birthday gift. My birthday is July 16th.

  • bushra nausheen says:

i have taken part in this contest and reffered many friends…hope to win this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sandy Froehlich says:

    Would love to win this

  • Robyn says:

Rats – I refuse to join Facebook, Twitter, Google+ & the other social media that have constant privacy & security issues. Bad enough getting hacked on Yahoo. Wish we could just sign up for a mailing list directly with BorrowLenses to be entered in this (for those of us who aren’t working & buying such cameras is prohibitive). Could Borrow pls. add that option?

  • A. Nunes says:

It would be really nice to have alternate ways to enter. I really don’t like facebook and don’t plan on ever joining. You should limit entries to just one method.

  • Brent says:

Stop complaining about it being on Facebook.
    That’s the way it is.
It takes 2 minutes to register with a bogus name and no personal information necessary to enter.

  • Dustin says:

Either camera would be awesome to win… I’m guessing my D7000 lenses won’t work on the D800 though, will they? Please pick me!

  • Jerry says:

Thankful for this promo. Not just because I have an equal chance of winning, but because I found out about BorrowLenses.com

  • Sam says:

    Fingers Crossed….

  • Rachel says:

    So, who won?

  • Raul Nunes says:

    Who won?

  • Pam Wright says:

I just found out about your site and the give away today! Just a bit to late. I was excited, I need a new camera. I never leave home without one.
